
Meet the coaches

Mackenzie Thiessen
U25 Grand Prix Dressage rider, Mackenzie Thiessen, is a USEF Silver medalist. She has spent the last 10 years competing on international stages including NAJYRC (now NAYC) and has many CDI YR victories under her belt. She has developed several of her competition horses from the beginning, and been able to learn with them up the levels.
Mackenzie is the youngest Canadian to achieve Equestrian Canada High Performance Coach I Status.
She is currently working on achieving her USEF Gold medal as well as developing a string of extremely talented young horses.
Mackenzie has brought many youth riders up through the levels of the sport and is passionate about developing athletes to the international level. She has coached riders to the heights of youth dressage - representing Canada at the North American Youth Championships. Within her program, she is mentoring other upcoming students to follow the same high performance pathway.

Jaime Hasiuk
Equestrian Canada Registered Coach, Jaime Hasiuk, has been coaching in the Manitoba equestrian industry for over a decade. She has competed in dressage and has supported many students through their first showing experiences.
She takes pride in developing holistic relationships with her students and their horses. Jaime firmly believes that both human and equine athletes perform at their best when their physical and mental health are taken into consideration.
Jaime’s goals for 2025 include organizing events and clinics at Solace, as well as taking her clients out to the local Dressage shows and completing her EC Competition Coach certification.

ANNIKA KRIENING
Annika is a Junior dressage rider from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She first sat on horseback at 2 years old and has not been able to stay away from horses since!
Annika first became immersed in the dressage world in 2020 thanks to Mackenzie Thiessen and Liz Crawford’s “Remmington”. Since then the Kriening family has acquired two dressage mounts - Savant and Francis XI - who both reside at Solace Stables.
In the winter season of 2023 Annika had the opportunity to train with Canadian Olympian Evi Strasser in Wellington, Florida.
Annika represented Equestrian Canada’s Junior Team for NAYC 2023 with her coach Mackenzie Thiessen.
Annika has received her EC Registered coach status and is excited to be offering lessons at Solace Stables. This year she aims to build her lesson clientele.

Presley Mann
Presley has been working and riding under Mackenzie for the last 3 years, and is excited to move into the next step of her Equestrian journey. She has been fortunate enough to have incredible riding experiences at Solace Stables.
Presley has competed up to third level dressage, and has experience with complicated and challenging horses. She is passionate about educating riders on the nuances of handling sensitive horses. Her program focuses on developing technical abilities and mental resiliance.
Presley is passionate about instilling the love of horses in her students andis a sought after coach for those looking to overcome obstacles in their riding journey.

Tegan Graham
Tegan is favorite with young riders in the stable. Her quiet, patient demeanor is the ideal approach for the start of anyone’s dressage journey.
She began her riding career training under Jaime Hasiuk at 6 years old and has now been training and showing in Dressage under Mackenzie since 2022. Tegan has competed up to third level dressage and is currently developing her horse Karuso up the levels.
Tegan is pursuing her Equestrian Canada rider levels followed by her Coaching License. Solace is happy to support our riders as they follow the Equestrian Canada coaching program.

The resident rescue barn dog. She is always happy to supervise and support a lesson or provide companionship while you are grooming. She has a perpetual smile on her face and is not adverse to sharing a snack or some carrots.
Meet the horses

Leo
Leo is a beautiful 16h Bay gelding by Sagnol (Sandro Hit) owned by the Kriening family, Leo is living life at Solace stables and loving his teaching job. Leo is trained to 4th level dressage, loves to jump and enjoys a nice stroll around the property.

Abisko
17.1h bay gelding by Argintinius. He was sold at the Paul Schockemole auction and imported from Germany to California as a 4 year old where he stayed the next 10 years of his life, the past 7 years being developed by FEI Dressage rider Dawn White O’Connor.
Abisko knows all the movements from the Grand Prix, he is an absolute change master. He has 70% scores in small tour. He is a cheeky fellow and requires an advanced rider but has taught all the Solace girls their sequence changes, and how to sit a massive trot!

Rhett Moonstone
Rhett is a 2013 half Andalusian 14.2 hand pony
He is perfect gentleman and is sweet as can be with kids and young riders. Rhett has a golden retriever personality and is as safe as they come. Rhett is originally from Quebec and made the move to Manitoba in 2020!

Larry
Loveable Larry
Larry is a 16.1h Thoroughbred/Warmblood gelding.
Larry has extensive experience in both the Hunter/Jumper and Dressage worlds. He is the reason so many young riders has fallen involve with the sport. He is the Go-to good boy. Larry is trained to second level dressage and is a fabulous teacher.
